Hello Everyone

Hello everyone I’m new to R2R and wanted to say thanks for having me. I live in Birmingham AL. Im new to saltwater but have experience with several freshwater tanks through the years. As far as my tank goes I have a 3 month old 40 gallon setup. I’m currently running a Tidal 55 with a skimmer and around 35 lbs of rock, mixed live rock with some cured white. I have about a 2” deep live sand bed and an Aqueon dual 36” led light setup and a glass lid. I have two clown fish, a fire fish, two pajama cardinals, a orchid dottyback, jester goby, yellow watchman goby, chocolate chip starfish, skunk shrimp, 3 bumblebee snails, a margarita snail and 4 hermit crabs. In the next few months I hope to start adding coral. Luckily I have an awesome LFS that answers most of my questions but I find myself coming up with new ones everyday so thank you in advance for bearing with me through this learning process. If you guys have any questions or need anything just let me know. Thank you

Thank you everyone! I’m a newbie so I’m still learning the ropes of a forum so let me know if I’m not posting correctly or in the right place. I’m hoping to spend approx $200-300 on a light, my goal is to start with some green star polyps from world wide coral to get my feet wet. Should I wait and spend more on lights or is there a light in that price range that is adequate for the green stars and not total junk. I don’t mind upgrading lights in the future when I get more advanced corals.

Here are a few pics of my setup. I’m going to rearrange the rock work, I’m not very happy with the current layout. My photography skills are lacking too.

Welcome! I came across this light actually yesterday at my LFS. They are called Noopsyche. My LFS said they were good lights and are inexpensive less than $200. They had them running in the back room on a frag tank.
