Hello everyone, my wife and I are just starting in the saltwater aquarium hobby. We recently finished setting up our aquarium and even though we don’t have any fish yet we are already having a great time! We have been slowly acquiring all of the equipment we have needed since February and finally got everything needed to get our tank started right. As of now our tank goes as follows, 75 gallon Aqueon tank, Maxspect Gyre 150, 2 Maxspect r420r 120 watt 16000k led fixtures, CPR CS100 overflow box, 20 gallon Aqueon aquarium that we made into a sump, Reef Octopus 150int protein Skimmer, Sicce Syncra Silent 4.0 return pump, 80 pounds of dry live rock and 10 pounds of live rock and 60 pounds of Natures Ocean Live Sand. So far everything is going well and according to our tests for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates it looks like our tank is finally cycled, so we will be picking up a pair of Clownfish this weekend to start our journey in keeping saltwater fish!!!!! I look forward to Learning a lot from everyone on the forum and have so far enjoyed my time lurking around and reading, there is a ton of information here and I can’t seem to get enough of it.

It is definitely pretty late lol. I have been binge reading the forum all night and decided it was probably time to actually make a profile and post something.
Haha, I know what you mean man. So how long has that tank been setup? Or maybe I missed that while reading

Haha, yeah you get to reading something interesting and one thing leads to another and suddenly, its been 4 hours. It has been up and running for 2 weeks. Before we got the tank set up we had the live rock living in a Rubbermaid storage container for about 2 months.

Cool so the live rock should be pretty lively by now. tank should cycle pretty quickly. But don't quote me on that lol.

Oh, (nature's ocean baby) lol tanked.

Well, the ammonia is 0, and so are the nitrites and the nitrates are between 0 and 5 ppm. So that seems promising! Lol, to be totally honest we were definitely watching tanked when I decided we needed a reef aquarium in our life.

Haha tanked is a good show man. But sometimes it just drives me crazy at how staged the show can be. And please don't put a coral insert in your tank haha. Those guys love coral inserts
