Hello everyone my name is Harry and I'm new to the hobby I first got into saltwater aquariums about a year ago and was a complete newbie and made lots of mistakes. I had a fish only saltwater 50 gallon cube after cycling the tank and being patient I added a pair of clown fish until one day my tank got the famous ick after treating with copper treatment supplied by my lfs they didn't pull through, after this incident I gave up until I could afford the right equipment or atleast to a standard that I was happy with as I'm am really fascinated in the saltwater hobby.

Funds are still very limited at the moment and I've recently purchased a 2nd hand pre drilled tank, I'm not to sure how big the tank is until I fill it and note how much it holds as the guy I bought it from wasn't sure.

I've also been given a 140L 4ft in length tank which I want to convert into a sump/refugium, although it's enormously bigger than my DP would there be any repercussions in having a huge sump/refugium?

The reason I ask is I am still a newbie and was planning this all with the intention that eventually I will upgrade my display tank in the near future to something in the 100gallon range but am making do with what I can afford

Apologies for the terrible grammar.

Any feedback or advice to point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

Wonderful thank you for the advice will post some pictures soon on the progress.
