Hi all,
I'm new to R2R but not to the Hobby. I've had aquariums for over 20 years and kept both freshwater and saltwater tanks. I've had saltwater reef tanks of different sizes from 10 to 60 over the years. I took a 4 year hiatus from the hobby because I purchased a fixer upper home and just could not give the tank the attention or money it would require. Unfortunately, home remodeling is not cheap.
A couple years ago I had acquired a 90 gallon bow front with center overflow and it has been sitting in the garage ever since I moved into the new house. I am contemplating on setting it up sometime in the future as I wrap up my kitchen remodel. I wan't to make my future tank as easy to maintain as possible. So, I'll probably stock the tank with softies or maybe add some LPS corals too. I think I have a location in the house that will allow me to have a remote sump in the garage and I could utilize space in the garage as my fish room. I think I will try to utilize some of the hardware from my previous 3ft long 60 gallon tank setup, the 90 gallon tank is 4ft long. I want to save as much as I can but am looking to automate and monitor the tank better so I am looking into possibly utilizing an Apex system.
I am open to any and all recommendations for my new setup. I am curious about utilizing an algae tank scrubber, I used to use chaeto in the sump of my last tank. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Happy reefing!
