Hello, welcome to R2R!!

Do your research on lights, controllers, A good skimmer, and pumps. These area are going to be an investment.

If you would like to save money, for example. I paid twice for my lights. I bought an entry level light that I could only really grow soft coral. I ended up replace the light with a better suited and more expensive light. In the long run I spent more for my budgeted lighting but also I will pay less in not losing corals.

There is plenty to learn! And lots of experience in these digital waters.

I have just started myself, and my best advice is get what you want from the start. No sense in setting up a tank just to upgrade in 6 months when the hook is in deep.

Have you any idea what size tank you are considering?
