Hello,

I have been reading the R2R posts for some time and I thought it's about time I join the community :)
Now with a 30 gal nano and battling dinos but not giving up!

Looking forward to a lot of interesting info & experience exchanges

Welcome to R2R!!!

Good Morning @Reefr

How long has your 30 gallon cube been set up for? My tank went through Dino phase briefly and turf algae phase for a year and back and forth with cyano algae until I got to the I-give-up phase and the tank started looking pretty good at about year 3.

I joined Reef2Reef after all that and just wanted to say; Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Your screen name is easy to remember. I like that.
Hello KrisReef,

First of all I'm surprised and really happy to read so many "welcome" here, this is amazing :)

The tank has been up and running since January this year so it's still new. Like a lot of people with dinos issues, I let my NO3 & PO4 get too close to zero. The tank was fine, corals were good so I thought to myself 'hey, why test for NO3 & PO4 on a regular basis?' When dinos decided to show their ugly face, I tested NO3 & PO4 only to find I had zero of both... Now trying to bring levels up, experimenting with different things... This is part of the learning process I assume :)

Hi @Reefr . Your tank is still new and the dino battle will continue for awhile yet. It isn't fair...You get a brand new saltwater set up only to discover that it generally goes through an "ugly phase" with dinos and other fun stuff. Your tank will get through it. Hang in there. Keep reading the threads on this forum and it really all starts to come together. I'm glad you joined us! Welcome!

Yes, and welcome again to this place for sharing and learning how to succeed in keeping a happy reef. I know that you will win the battle of the parameters.
