Greetings all and especially Rev.
I am a returning person to Reef to Reef. I have never been very active on the site but my schedule has afforded me a bit of extra time so I thought I would take advantage of it by coming back to R2R.
Some of you may know me from other forums as Briney Dave.
I am a marine biology teacher in Bellevue, Ohio (my 20th year) My students and I have built a modest lab up through the years which includes a 412g Indo-Pacific sps display, a 240 seahorse tank, and a 412 bamboo shark tank.
Thanks to a very generous donation we are setting up three of those 8' penair frag tanks. The donor gave all the basic equipment we just need to put the systems back together add water and corals
The tipping reason for becoming active here is to share our journey with the 3 frag systems and with the Apex Neptune controller that the Central Ohio Reef Aquarists club (CORA) donated to us last weekend. I am completely new to using any controller much less one as cool and versatile as this one. My students want to share our experiences with the unit so everyone can learn with us and to tap diy and Neptune experts for advice in setting it all up and taking as full of advantage of the unit as we can.
I am notoriously bad about posting pics. I do post often on our Facebook page but that is super easy. I promise to read up on how to post pictures here and get some images up right away so anyone interested can follow along with us easier.
It is nice to meet you all as I read through your posts and welcome commentary and suggestions.
