Welcome to Reef2reef! I’m in the Cumming area and also a member of the Atlanta Reef Club. You should definitely check us out. There is an annual expo over at the Infinite Energy arena in Duluth with lots of great deals on coral. Also, most LFS are sponsors and if you join, they give you a 10% discount on most purchases. That said - I’m on this forum for the VAST expertise, live sales, etc. — and the ARC for the face to face events and having folks close by in case of disaster.

The rain barrel with a spigot might have brass in the spigot valve?

I had a “plastic valve” failure while I was on vacation due to the brass screw electrolysis issue inside. The gate valve fell apart and flooded my yard before the leak was detected by a neighbor that noticed the water flowing off the property.

I use a plastic barrel with a submersible pump for mixing.

Welcome to the club, as iron_mike_gt said check out Atlanta reef club. This site it's a lot larger, so you have a wider variety of material, sales, and such. Tge great thing about arc is that you get to meet locals, get help, and find local deals at times. Good luck on yoor build and I look forward to seeing your build thread. Gl
