Hi all
I'm a new reefer.
It's been on my bucket list for a long time, done everything else inside and out but never saltwater.
I'm a plumber by trade but always wanted to be a marine Biologist, so this is the next best thing. Working with water all day and playing with fish and corals.

Unfortunately the only place i can have a tank is in the conservatory so there have been a number of issues i have had to over come before i could even start a tank. Luckily the plumbing side is a easy.
I am using a H & C switch linked to 2 heaters and a 750w chiller all through one flow and return pipe system. This should cope with the large temperature swings. I have also fashioned some reflective glass covers for the tank, a bit like the ones used on the window of a motor home to keep the heat and sun out. These will be used on the most extreme days.

I was given a 40 gal tank which has now be positioned for a second time due to a warped plywood base. The tanks is made by AKVA-Stabil from Denmark and i know nothing about it apart from it is set into a very nice aluminium frame.
I acquired 20kg of dry rock which has been curing in the shed. Yesterday it went into the tank and today i have started the cycle. There is a long slow road ahead but i'm patient and looking forward to it.
I have been reading a lot from this forum and i look forward to talking to everyone as it seems to be very friendly and well imformed. : )
