I will try to keep this brief.

I have a fully cycled 120 gallon tank with about 150 pounds of live rock and 120 pounds of live sand... No fish yet.

I had a 75 gallon FOWLR for about 6 years that we lost in a freak home-owner's accident with a programable thermostat for our house kicking in over a 3 day weekend when were were gone and litterally cooking everything in our tank. We were in the process of moving about 3 hours away and sold everything with the hopes of someday being over the loss and stating over. Flash forward almost 8 years to today and things are going well.

The tank setup has been slow and tedious, but will be well worth it. About the last things to do are finish the DIY LED light mount and get the screen tops put together. My first fish order for this tank should be in about a week and a half as I am coordinating a local club's Live Aquaria order.

Anyway, I am here mainly because I kept doing google searches for saltwater information, and most of the search results were here or ReefCentral. I've been over at RC for a LONG time, but as we all know, that site is so slow. So I thought that I would sign up here.

So there you have it. A basic run-down of what brought me here.

Welcome to R2R. You'll find plenty of great information here. Can't wait to hear more about your tank.

Thanks! I have some snapshots of the "before" stuff (nasty used stand, etc, oak colored tank rims, etc) and my new build in black, plus some good aquascaping vs. what the previous owner had. Once I get my LED light mount done (hopefully this week), I am going to take some more pictures and then again once I have some fish in there. I will post some "before and after" shots in a week or so.

Welcome to R2R!!! New member myself and loving it here. I agree with you. Reef Central is ssooooo slow, so I just have up on them.

Enjoy the site!

Welcome to the site! Are you planning to do a FOWLR tank with your 120 like you did with the 75, or a reef tank?

FOWLR. I LOVE the look of some of the tanks that people have with all of the corals, but a FOWLR is where my biggest bang for MY buck is.

Those little mushrooms in the tank may or may not make it for the long haul. If I get something that is nipping at them, I may see about removing them and giving them to a local reef club member.
