Hello everyone my name is Brian and im from long island ny! Im a member f a few different forums and love reading for great info and ideas! I have been reefing for about 2 years now. My current tank is currently 6 months old.
My tank is a 150 tall (48x24x30) single corner overflow mixed reef ( or i should say going to be a mixed reef). I have a 50 gallon sump with reef octopus protein skimmer, BRS dual GFO and crabon reactor, 6 bulb t5 tek fixture, 6 korila powerheads for flow , and about 15-200 lbs of rock, I shoukd also metntion that the tank s bare bottom. I currently have a fox face rabbit fish, clarki clown, dwarf flame back angel fish, huge coral banded shrimp, and a black spinned sea urchin. AS far as corals I have a frogspawn, green polyp lether, regular lether, kenya tree, all kinds mushrooms, and some zoas, all doing well!
At this point I sit and think what I could do differently or change to make my tank better. So ive deciced to do a mini upgrade where I will be doing the following......
switching to 2 maybe 3 Ecoteh radions
installing 2 MP40s maybe a 3rd down the line
Placing in a black sandbed
adding a 10g ATO
and an algae scrubber
controller of some sort
The best part is I will be purchasing a tablet (prob ipad) and will be mounting it to the wall next to me tank. I will install ecotechs software for the pumps and lights along with the controller software so I will be able display and controll everything right from the tablet!!!! I spoke with echotech and they said they are currently working on software for apple operating system!
Sorry for the long post, all this upgrade stuff is still in the planning sages. I look foward to meeting everyone and talking reef with my fellow hobbyist!!!
