Hello to all... Finally decided to join after checking out threads here for a while... I belong to a few local clubs in my area (BRS and NER)
I've had a tank for over 5 years and the last year has been full blown reef. I also have a 29 fowlr. The reef is a 55 gallon (crappy tank :crossedlips
that has 4x54W SLR retro kit with 2 ati blue + and 2 geisemann aqualblue that puts out some pretty good PAR. I have a ghetto rigged sump and fuge project with a HOB overflow that hasn't let me down yet into a fuge that gravity feeds into the sump that holds an oversized as hell for my tank Octo Extreme 160 skimmer with an ocean runner 2500 return pump. Just installed 2 new Koralia #4's a few days ago.
Future plans involve re-doing the sump/fuge and putting them into one 15 gallon high and putting a 5 gallon resevoir to do an ATO and kalk reactor as currently I'm dripping kalk which is a PITA to swap out twice a day :squigglemouth: Also want to put a Bulk Reef Supply reactor and run both carbon and GFO...
As far as coralwise it's a mixed reef with SPS (acros and montis), a few softies (tree coral, toadstool, BTA, GSP and xenia) two clams (crocea and maxima) and LPS (favias, euphyllias, and my favorite acans) Def acans rule the tank; currently I think I only have about 17-18 but it might be less because I've started to sell off my less than grade A and ultras and I'm just focusing on the top end ones...
I'll def post some pics in a few mins of what I have on photobucket if it's working at work...
