Hello from Miami

Hi All

I'm new to the R2R and am looking forward to collaborating with you all. I've been in the saltwater aquarium game for 7-8 years and have many ups and downs. To say this is a challenging hobby is an understatement. At its peak the tank was full of thriving corals, fish and crustacean but my biggest enemy has been inexperience and time. I've had a few traumatic events over the years that have have decimated the tank. I'm hoping to gain from you experienced reefers and avoid more costly mistakes.

I currently have a Red Sea Reefer Deluxe 170 (35 Gallon) with a Ocellaris clownfish, an Engineer goby, 2 cleaner shrimp and a cleanup crew made up of snails and crabs. A close friend of mine gifted me his tank 8 years ago and passed away shortly after. Since then its been my mission to keep his tank going strong! His Clownfish, Willy Jr. is still alive an well and has managed to survive all my tank disasters!

Welcome to R2R! I grew up in the Miami area (Coral Gables). I'm sure you can provide us with some great experience. The ups and downs are all part of it. We all have them. Those clownfish are pretty "hearty." Mine (in my picture) is 12 years old. He is my original fish and was the lone survivor of my tank upgrade 6 years ago.

Welcome to R2R. Hope the disasters are behind you now. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Welcome. Sorry about your friend, nice to keep the tank going.
