New member here. I finally joined on Friday to participate in the WWC live sale. I've been lurking on the forum for a VERY long time though. I appreciate all of the support/guidance/suggestions I have found on here over the years. Hope to be able to pay it forward now!
I have had aquariums (mainly freshwater) since I was 6 years old (I'm old now). Local grocery store used to offer a scavenger hunt in the store to keep kids occupied while parents shopped. If you found all the clues and made it to the end, you got a free goldfish. I wanted to go EVERY week. I stopped fishkeeping for a bit while in college years ago and got back into it when I bought my first house (also a long time ago).
Started keeping saltwater fish about 10 years ago (still have my original pair of clowns!) & coral about 6 years ago. At my peak, I had 8 systems set up in my house. After a few promotions at work I found myself traveling 35-45 weeks a year and my wife doesn't enjoy the hobby like I do so I started taking everything down except for a few small tanks. Thanks to Covid, in the last year I have been sitting at home and started building up my systems again (no plans for work travel again when this passes!).
I enjoy researching everything and getting to learn about new things to keep. This hobby has also taught me patience (which is definitely something I lack).
One other thing to note is that I do not have or want display tanks. All of mine are just frag systems to grow and propagate so I can give them away or swap with others.
Last fall I started planning and laying out the system to breed clownfish because I think it would be a great thing to experience.
Thanks for all the knowledge over the years, and a great weekend during the live sale!
