Hey! Knoxville here! You can do this too! These folks can help you with pretty much anything! What tank do you have in mind?

Welcome to R2R and the wonderful folks, information and help.

I got a few years on you for freshwater LOL, I was 12 when I started. This is much the same just much more time required between adding stock. I had tried salt back in 85 and was very disappointed in how hard it was....Didn't even give it a thought again until 2 years ago. Glad I gave it a second chance. Lots has changed and it is easier than ever. I ran FOWLR for a year before starting to add softies....Should have only waited 6 months..they are way easier than expected.

Patience, it is the big word around here, Reefing is patience to cycle, to watch things grow, to keep your tank balanced.
I recommend to everyone joining to create a tank build thread.
1. You get to see where you have started and how much you have grown in this hobby.
2. We love pictures and to see what your doing with your tank.
3. It’s a great learning tool for all of us to see what works and doesn’t . We learn great stuff from each other.
Lastly the only bad question here is the one not asked...

Welcome! I'm currently just outside Murfreesboro, and doing a pico build. How far along are you in your saltwater journey? Do keep us updated! I have a few extra pieces and things in the event that you need something... Especially dry rock.

Aquatic critter was mentioned as a good LFS. I haven't been there yet but have heard of it. Emerald Bay is also good but very small... Friendly people there. All the good LFS are in Nashville.

Welcome to R2R from a fellow Tennessean! It's never too late to start on the salty side. I was on the "mature" side when I started my first saltwater tank! ;Joyful
