Hello folks,
Just thought I would introduce myself to everyone. Ive been a non registered lurker for a while here and I figured I needed to take the plunge. My name is Erick (chopstickpsycho). I am pretty well known in the Kansas/Missouri area in the reef hobby. I've been doing saltwater tanks for over 20 years now.
Up until the first of the year, I was the Chief Editor/Administrator for a local reefing forum and left that post to focus on some real life stuff and helping out a local retail store in the KC area. There I advised, authored care card content, and helped organize events. My profession is in Business Consulting/Audit/Risk Management and banking, but I spend quite a bit of time helping out Paradise Aquatics in the Kansas City area from afar (sw Nebraska). The owner and I go way back and I help him with growouts, events and wherever else I can. As such, I've gained quite a following of friends and customers that still rely on me for help each and every day. I see some of my friends on this forum right now.
As for my tank(s), I have many. I have 2-29g biocubes both reef, a 5g nano, a 125g reef, a 120g Reef, a 90 cube (mainly for frags and healing), and lastly I'm going to start a 300 dd this fall...I hope to start a build thread for it here as well.
I am a total book worm. While I don't discount the internet, I am a biologist by education. As such, I have an Extensive library that I reference my information with. I supplement with the internet only when necessary. I can be an insufferable know it all, but simultaneously have an insatiable desire to learn...and R2R has a TON of information that I just keep finding new for me to learn! I am already part of a Vast network of reefers, retailers, wholesalers, and serious Hobbyists, so coming to R2R seemed like the nest smart move.
I look forward to helping in any way that I can, learning as much as I can, and asking as much as I dare! Thanks In advance!
