Greetings, I'm new to this website but not to Reefing. I had a 55g tank years ago but lost it due to Super storm Sandy. I'm looking to get back into it, this time with a larger tank and update some equipment..

This was my tank, it was thriving for about 3 1/2 years until I lost power for 12 days and could not sustain proper levels.

I truly miss this hobby and look forward to any advice and help I can provide..

Thanks

Thanks all
I tried to find a generator but it was near impossible..not to mention the amount of power it drew was immense.

I'm leaning towards 65g-75g...only because I plan on putting in a Koi pond and between the both of them my electric meter gonna be spinning..

Plans are trying to be as energy efficient as possible, old tank had 2 x 150w metal halide...gone...I picked up a couple AI fixtures...I think that will be a huge power saving along with a better spectrum of light and more control..

I cant wait to get this started..

I the new system is anything like your past system, it will be great.

Welcome @BMWZ4M08 to R2R.

Sayreville here (Central NJ)

A small generator saved my tank from Sandy....out for over seven days. Ran the entire tank, home heating, refrigerator, television and a couple lights. Elderly neighbors spent the day in my house watching TV.

Again, welcome.

Thanks everyone, I used to get upset when I showed off the tank to visitor...I'd get "oh that nice" but they had no idea how much time and $$$ it was to maintain.

Its funny I have so many picture of the tank processing but only a couple of filtration shots..the filter didn't really progress much, I did find that the older the tank got the easier it was to take care of..
Wet/dry about 1 1/2 in...same as tank..
