Hello! My name is Sharon. I am not necessarily new to saltwater, but I am currently setting up my largest and most complicated project yet, with my first foray into corals. It is going to be a 180 gallon softie reef. Why softies? I love Angels, lol... I am really looking forward to picking your brains! The tank came with no plumbing and a monstrous LifeReef LF2 200/240 double tower wet/dry filter that would have required untold amounts of complicated plumbing to run external pump, skimmer, and 3 reactor/media tubes. I didn't want that much complicated plumbing, but didn't want to scrap a $950 sump/filter, so I ripped out one of the wet dry towers and put a sock on that side, then put the skimmer and pump inside. The skimmer will be feeding the carbon tube (the only reactor I kept)... So now I only have 2 lines coming in, and one line going out (splitting into a double return in back). I hope I get this right! Rock and water go in tomorrow!

Welcome to R2R! North Carolina is a great place to live having resided here for the last ten years. What is your local fish store?
