Hi, I think this is my second post here. Fitting, this is my second go at reefing. I started with a 10g for a few months back in 2005/6 and moved it to a 30g cube right before going to grad school. These tanks were coral only, never even had a chance to get fish before I got too busy in school to have fun with the tank (I lived away 3-4 days a week) and bryopsis kicked in. So the 30g cube soon went into storage and I finally just started back up late this summer. I had to get on it, as we were having a baby (#2) in October and there was no chance of ever reefing if I didn't start before that happened.

So now, I thought I'd join the community here as I also joined the local club here in the DC area. I've heard good things about people on R2R, and wanted to do the intro thread/post.

Outside of my personal story...here are details this crowd will appreciate...

My current set-up:
46g oceanic bowfront (used, but fit the space approved by the missus)
15h sump (baffles by yours truly)
4x39w T5 retro with individual reflectors (P+, B+, C+, B+)
MJ600-Pro, MJ900 with hydor flow
glass-holes overflow(drilled by yours truly)
sc-aquariums 302 skimmer
ATO
2 new BRS dosers now waiting for me to set them up

Fish:
2 ORA Ocellaris (first fish, for my oldest little boy)
Yellow Tang (I know I know, but why lie...my wife loved him and I'll find him a new home as needed)
later on, 1-2 more tbd (maybe a potters angel, my fav)

LPS frags (not the emphasis):
2 head euphylia
3 head duncan

SPS frags:
idaho grape cap
bright green cap
valida
tricolor
pink table
cali tort
green efflo
(considering more after I get the dosers set up)

And so you can see where I'm at...pardon my phone camera...I have no real photography skills..

Cheers! - Matt

Welcome to R2R, the people here are friendly. Congrats on your second baby. Yeah pics from phones don't bring the colors out on your tank but still a nice set up.

Forrealb50 - glad you like the scape....can't make out much in my pic beyond that...I should probably work on my photography after I get better at reefing

Hey you guys, thanks for the welcome! Gadgets and Extreme, maybe will see you on WAMAS too.

And if you have any advice I seem to be posting in the reef chemistry forum right now ...cheers
