Thanks for the info.I'm using an AI Prime HD -- which I'm pretty happy with except that the light is emitted from such a small point-source that I'm starting to get some issues with shadowing now that the SPS up top is getting bigger....
Glad to see another Oaklander on here! What LFS do you usually go to? Curious if you've checked out Bay Bridge Aquarium over near Jack London yet? They're still under construction-(ish), and don't have much in the way of coral yet, but the owner Michael is setting up a 1,100 gallon reef display tank behind the front counter that I'm pretty excited to watch grow.Amazing Tank! Im in Oakland as well[emoji16]

Yea I stopped by a few times! I can’t wait for them to start adding corals to their display. I think their pricing is a little high but they have some nice rarities. My favorite LFS has to be Aquatic Collection, amazing store with some really rare fish and nice corals. Ive seen everything over there from gem tangs to True Personifer angel pairs. I keep coming back to this thread to look at your tank its incredible!
Aquatic Collection is my usual go-to for fish, inverts, and LPS/zoas. Really knowledgeable staff and a great store! Probably about 75% of the corals in my tank where purchased there, though my SPS I've been getting from Neptune down in San Jose.
Also if you dont mind me asking what settings are you running your prime on?
In my experience, Neptune’s pricing is higher than aquatic collection for some things (example - a fungia plate coral that is $100ish at Neptune can sometimes be found at similar color/size for $65 at Aquatic Collection. That being said, Neptune has a much larger collection of SPS corals and “designer” type zoanthids (Rasta spas, etc). Neptune has a large tank of saught-after SPS (like strawberry shortcake acro, Cali tort, WWC grafted monti, etc) some which can be had for $20/frag or less while Aquatic Collection in my experince often just has browned-out wild-caught drags. It’s deinitely worth checking out — even if just to marvel at all of their big display tanks up front.
My prime HD settings are just the BRS AB+ settings - UV: 119%, violet: 116%, royal and blue both 80%, green and red both 4% and white 19%.
Hey one more question what do you have for flow? I noticed you have acros and and softies, im struggling to keep the high flow for acros and low enough for mushrooms and lps.
I would agree. Neptune almost exclusively sells aqua cultured or captive propagated corals while aquatic collection almost exclusively sells wild harvested corals :-(In my experience, Neptune’s pricing is higher than aquatic collection for some things (example - a fungia plate coral that is $100ish at Neptune can sometimes be found at similar color/size for $65 at Aquatic Collection.
