My name is Larry and I am from Thomasville PA, I am 56 and have been keeping fish most of my life, about 50 years. I had a saltwater tank about 20 years ago with much success. I just started a build of a Redsea reefer 250. With all this new technology I will probably have many questions. My Lord and savior Jesus Christ is number one in my life and he is AWESOME!!!!

Off to a bad start, never cured my live rock, now nitrites and nitrates are off scale, I guess another water change and wait?

Welcome, first Larry, to Reef 2 Reef. I'm assuming you started with Dry rock, so do a very large WC, 60-70%, then add bacteria, Mb-7 or Day/Night, or some other. #1, Slow Down. Speed is NOT your friend.

Ok, thanks, I know it can take awhile, I am trying to be patient.

Welcome to R2R and yes, patience is king in this hobby. It will come together for you so hang in there.

Do you have any livestock in the tank? If not, the nitrites and nitrates are no big deal. Just let the bacteria do their thing.

Thomasville, so near Gettysburg, one of my favorite places. I suggest swinging by the Garryowen Irish Pub for a sip from the whiskey list, a mug from the beer list, and a GO burger. I don't know what kind of local fish stores you have, but there's a few coral guys not too far off in addition the That Fish Place in Lancaster.

No live stock yet, and yes I am at that fish place all the time, way back in the late 70's started going there, it is great!
