I would like to introduce myself. My name is Derek and I am relatively new to the reef keeping hobby. I have two saltwater tanks, a 14 gallon cube and a 29 gallon biocube. I also have a 9 gallon fluval flex freshwater planted tank.
My 14g has been up and running since June 2019 and is starting to stabilize. I have two HOB aqua clear 30 power filters, one has a bag of chemipure elite and the other is a DIY mini-refugium. It houses a Wyoming White clown, purple foot green BTA, ruby longfin fairy wrasse, cleaner shrimp, some GSP, and a bizarro cyphastrea.
The 29g has been setup for about 4 months and has the Intank aquatics filter inserts for the media basket and refugium with stick on back refuge light and an AI prime HD for the main light. It has an orange mushroom, and goniaporra that is 95% dead
, and a rock with various kinds of zoas. For fish it has a Canary Wrasse, purple firefish, three pajama cardinals, and a orchid dottyback.
Yes, I am overstocked. Thankfully nobody has jumped (yet) or attacked each other (yet) but I will likely be rehoming some of the fish. I do my weekly water changes but I admit to not testing my water enough. I was new and impulsive with my fish purchases. I'm here to learn how to plan my stocking out better, and learn how to grow corals more successfully. Overall, I just want to become a better reefer.
Thanks!
