Hey guys my name is Jason. I'm getting back intok the hobby of SW and decided I was going to go small and get a Fluval EVO 13.5 and make it a reef tank. I've wanted one for awhile and just decided now was as good of time as any. I have had 75gal+ tanks before for a little while but it has been several years ago.

So as of right now I have a 13.5 EVO set up with 12lbs live rock, 15lbs of live sand, have an InTank 2nd chamber media basket with Chemi-pure Elite in top of basket, Seachem Purigen on second level, and then fluval biomax rings for lower level.

Thank you guys for the support. Excited to be back. I have never had corals before, and have been doing lots of research about good corals to start with. What I'm unsure about is how to go about separating from the plug and securing to the rock.

Welcome! I live in Tampa too. I know some people use things like bone cutters and dremel tools to get corals off the plug or at least cut the plug down so it’s not as much of an eyesore

Also what’s your favorite fish store around here? I highly recommend marine warehouse for fish it’s about a 20 min drive from Tampa on Hillsborough. Also coral corral is great for cheap coral. They have a $10 buy one get one free section and a $20 buy one get one free section. Creative aquariums on dale mabry is the closest to me but doesn’t have the greatest selection.

^ I meant corals and fins not coral corral. Coral corral is also nice though, just not as cheap

I like coral reef aquariums on Armenia and waters. I also like Marine Warehouse. Sometimes when I go in it seems like your a bother to the workers but most time it's a good experience. There is so many other aquarium stores in the area I've decided I would check a couple out a week and see what I think. I'll keep you informed if you like. There is a new store up in land o lakes, called what's in your tank it's ok, something different.
