Hello all! I have been following the forums for quite some time and thought it is finally time to introduce myself. I am in the process of filling my new tank. It's a 125 gallon dt with a 40 gallon custom Trigger Systems Sump. I'll be starting a build thread soon. My real name is Matt and I live in Leadville, CO which is 10,200 feet above sea level, so this just might be the highest reef tank in the US ;) (We'll see what challenges this brings with lack of oxygen and all). I am looking forward to getting to know some of you and thank you for all of the information you all have already shared, it has really helped me.

Welcome Matt! I'm a new member and long time lurker myself:). What are you planning to stock the tank with?

Thank you and welcome to you as well. I am going to start off with fish for now along with the cleanup crew. I haven't settled on an actual livestock list just yet, but have an idea. I have the equipment to go with LPS and SPS corals as well, but going to hold off. I am new to the saltwater scene, but always had freshwater.

Good luck! Where are you using for your LFS? I live in monument Colorado.
So nothing in Leadville. There is a Petco in Dillon that actually has a pretty good selection of fish. For everything else it is me heading down to Denver or over the internet. Who do you recommend down in your area?

Welcome home, you will love it here!

We are going to need some pics of your tank ASAP! :)

Matt, welcome to R2R. Very interesting thought about the altitude, I have wonder that myself if will effect a reef or not.

I have a tank 10,300 feet located in the house above yours! I win!!! Haha jk welcome! Also a 5280 reefer!

Welcome Matt! I am a newbie too. I am about 100 feet above sea level here in Southeast Alaska. I envy people that can have a huge tank. I live in a small condo and have a 20 gallon tank.

Welcome aboard, Matt!

I'll admit to some curiosity about high-altitude reefing, though not in any practical sense - my town's on the coastline. I'd imagine you'd see any atmospheric effects in your pH or in your skimmate - but I'd also imagine they'd be minimal.

Thank you for all of the welcomes.

Lol, nice. Great looking tank! You'll have to fill me in on the LFS you like.

I'll start a build thread soon, but here is a pic of the tank, stand and sump. Tank is almost full, filling the sump now.
