Hi y'all! This is my first time posting on this forum, so I thought I would introduce my self here. My online handle is Icycoral and my reef is located up in northeastern Ct. I've been in the hobby for about three and a half years now. I've had a few different systems set up but right now only my reef and qt are running. I had a mantis tank setup for two years however, I took it down when she passed away about a year ago. I'm very active in my local aquarium club Ctars and their forum on RC.
My reef tank is predominately sps and zoa/palys with a few lps here and there. It's an older perfecto 48gal cube style tank 25x25x18. Its not drilled so I use a Eshopps overflow box with an Eshopps rs-75 sump. For lighting I have a vho/metal halide combo with a 400w radium and two 54w super actinic vho's controlled by a reef keeper. I'm running a bubblemagus nac7 skimmer currently and inject O3 with my aquazone-100. I used to run a Tunze 9010, I'm thinking about switching back to it. I have a vertex rx-4 CaRx and love it, even though it's a little noisy, and a pin point ph controller. For flow I have a mag drive7 return and two mp10wes. I usually have them set on a gyre pattern after a whole lot of playing around with them. I dose OCD but still run my biopellet reactor along w a dedicated fuge area in my sump for heavy nutrient removal and pod reproduction. Can't forget my tlf carbon reactor and via aqua titanium heater also controlled by the reef keeper. I have more corals in there than you could shake a stick at but my pride and joys are my purple monster, strawberry shortcake, 500 efflo, purple hornets, Rastas, and utter chaos. I've also kept a sea apple for two years now!
