First off just want to say hello to everyone! So i've always wanted to start a reef tank for as long as i can remember i just never was able to pull the trigger. finally using a 75g long tank i received as gift I decided to build my first saltwater set up. started in January and finally after piecing it together over the months filled it May 24. (lots and lots of reading and researching took place before all this, actually its still going on lol) . I cycled my tank using turbo start 900, live sand and couple pieces of live rock from LFS. a month passed since initial fill and i was at zero across the board on ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, Ph at 8.2 and salinity at 1.025 . i added my first pair of clowns and a CUC and they did great and my parameters stayed in line. 1 week later i added a flame angle, fire fish and also some random corals i received from a new friend in the hobby. as of right now everything seems to be going good and i don't plan on adding anymore to the tank for the next year as i know i got a little impatient and I want my tank to mature so that i don't risk the lives of any of my live stock. but i'm excited to join R2R and further my knowledge and receive help and advice from all of you amazing and experienced reefers!
