Hello everyone,
I found this site from a link on reefaddicts and decided after looking around to join. My name is Jeremy I live in Willard Utah and have been keeping fish tanks for about 11 years. My first tank was a 10 gallon FW tank that I made all the mistakes possible and killed everything. After that experiance I decided to do some research and found out what I did wrong and what I needed to do the next time around. After that it was all downhill from there. I found a local forum and went nuts. I upgraded from the 10 gallon to a "monster" 55 gallon. Well I thought it was a monster tank anyway. I filled the 55 with African cichlids and loved it, but I wanted to go bigger after seeing a forum members 125 gallon hap and peacock show tank. I ended up getting a 150 and setting it up as a hap and peacock show tank. One thing lead to another and before I knew it I was a full on fish rancher with 9 tanks in my house ranging from 10 gallons up to the 125. Durring this time I really started liking SW tanks and really wanted one. But I didn't want to make the same mistakes with it that I made with my first FW tank. I spent over a year reading and researching SW tanks and equipment all that stuff before I started my journey into the SW side of tank keeping. I set up a 29 gallon tank that I drilled and built my own overflow for along with my own sump. The tank ran 3 55w pc lights and was awesome. About a year after I set that tank up a member of the local forum put her 90 gallon reef up for sell as a package deal with a screaming good price. I couldn't resist it and had to buy it. So now I'm down in tank numbers but way up in water volume. I currently have 3 tanks up and running. The 90 gallon reef, and FW 125 with some South American fish and 2 retic stingrays, and the big daddy.....a 500 gallon tank. It's stocked with a motoro stingray, tire tack eel, red top geos, 2 spotted Flordia gar, a clown knife and a black arrowana.
I'm in the works of taking down the 125 and putting a 180 in it's place and moving my reef into the 180. I figured it was time to move the reef to a bigger tank and make us of the 180 that has been sitting empty in my basement for over a year now.
I currently don't have any pictures of my tanks but I did get a new camera last night to replace my old one that broke. Now that the battery is charged I will snapping some pictures and posting them.
