Hello everyone,
I am a relatively new reefer but have been in the aquarium hobby for many years. My journey started with fresh water plants which actually led me to working in an aquarium store for bit of time. I quickly developed MTS and ended up being burned out and shutting everything down and taking a break.

Fast forward five years and I am starting to think about getting back into aquariums. However, this time I decided to give salt water a shot. So here is my tank and and the specs:

-32 gallon Biocube (13 months)
-Stock lights
-24 corals (most from WWC)
-IM DC return pump and wave maker
-IM Nuvo skimmer
-In Tank media basket

I have relatively slow growth but it is steady. I use Red Sea Coral Pro salt and am happy with how my aquarium is progressing. I do weekly 8 gallon water changes.

I also have a quarantine system running in my garage that is starting to become more of a frag tank.

I am looking forward to meeting other reefers here and to exchange knowledge/shared experiences.

Thank you,
Grogans

Welcome To R2R
May you have success, luck, happiness and excitement with your new salt water aquarium.
Nice set up...
Nice to see reefers all the way up in Alaska! I’m surprised you don’t have a salmon, Pollock or Cod tank with King Crabs...lol
Enjoy...you will love it here!

Welcome. 91 degrees?!

You might have to invest in a chiller. I don't think a fan and evaporation will cut it.

can you imagine

I purchased an in house air conditioning unit a few years back and am thoroughly enjoying it! It was well worth the money and my tanks have actually been doing well.

I went to the LFS in Anchorage last week and they said that they have been struggling with the heat. For the most part nobody really has AC up here and every store in town is sold out of fans, ice, squirt guns, sprinklers, and especially AC units!
