Hello! I'm pretty new to your site. I have been reading post for a couple of weeks but have not posted here. I'm finding a lot of good information on the site, so thanks to everyone who knows what they are doing. I have been doing a saltwater tank for about a year. My son, who was 6 at the time, was the one who really wanted to do a saltwater tank and we thought it would be a good learning experiment for him. Needless to say he lost interest and I'm the one addicted.
I currently have a 55 gallon long. It is the tank that has been running for about a year. I have about 100 pounds of live rock, and used live sand. Hoping to upgrade my lighting in the next few months. I do reg water changes so I haven't used a skimmer, but I'm planning on adding one of those soon too. I wanted to add some softies to the tank, but my choc chip had other ideas.
I love my big tank so much that I recently set up a nano. It is a 6 gallon. I used materials from my big tank and it seems to be pretty successful. I have recently been adding soft corals and mushrooms to that tank because it has better lighting already.
I look forward to reading more of your posts and to continue to learn new information. I'm hoping to be in the hobby for quite some time. I already want to go bigger! Haha. Thanks so much!
