Hello, I'm Piero.

Here's some bullet points on my 'MO CV' I guess? Last time I was cracked out on reef forums, [other forum name] was a thing. Get off my lawn, or something.
  • Mr. Rogers had nothing on that frenchman in the red wool hat
  • First job was the sw dept. of Martin's Aquarium in Levittown Pa. c. '88
  • Mom drove to LFS's more than soccer practice by a large margin
  • Divemaster, RSMAS, business school
  • Ditched on PADI IDC because I hated myself for shucking c-cards
  • Didn't become a marine biologist, thank god
  • Ran ReefLabs.com until the real career involved more travel in '06
PS
  • I value intellectual honesty, and I'm often wrong
  • If you don't believe Nathan's is the only hotdog worth mentioning, we're gonna have a problem
  • Don't take me too seriously
Looking forward to engaging with this community. The salt itch is back in a big way, and I'm ready for some enablers.

Nathan's are quite good. We make a point of getting some whenever we visit my in-laws in the city.
But, when we visit my family, we eat the famous White Hot!

No longer east coast.
I've been in PDX since the 'turn of the century' (get off my lawn). I came out west after college for the windsurfing (Columbia Gorge) and fell in love with the PNW.

Welcome

Welcome!!! Any idea what size tank ya wanting to do?

I tend to operate in racks... lab before show don't ya know. :p Currently staring at some industrial chrome wire shelving. It's a space with tight constraints so I'm in the process of planning plumbing, wiring, redundancies, leak detection, etc. The shelving is 30x30x96. I'm lucky to have tall ceilings.

Planning 3 tanks and 1 sump on bottom. Probably decreasing tank depths going up... so probably 30x30x12, 30x30x10, 30x30x8 on the very top. Still a lot in the air of course. Any advice more than welcome! I want to have everything nailed with regard to system planning before shooting RFP's to tank builders though.

Not in a huge rush as the dopamine from the day-dreaming/planning stage of any system is some of the best parts of life, imho. :p

After that yes I need to decide on an actual display with aesthetics in mind. Cube or peninsula definitely.

Thanks for the warm welcome ya dirty animals!
