Hi, I am a saltwater aquarium NEWbie!!! Have had many different freshwater tanks fro 10-75 gallons. Neverhad the pleasure of a saltwater tank,but always wanted one. I have not purchased a tank yet. I was looking to start off small, and somewhat easy. I came across the Biocube 29 and would like to know what the consensus is on them. I would like to have some coral, cleaners and 2-3 fish. Are the bio cubes good? What is the best sources for step by step set up of a tank? What are the best fish, cleaners...etc. to have in those tanks? As I said I haven't purchased a tank yet, but I defiantly have an itch for one! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I would say think of the direction you would like to go first.
Then look up size requirements and compatibility... (live aquaria gives a general info on keeping each thing you buy, size requirements and compatibility) Not saying to buy from them (expensive), but you can use their knowledge base.
Then you can shoot for equipment.
Its hard not to rush into things, you get excited, make mistakes and in the end when you look back its a lot of money.
Knowing what i know now, I wouldve stayed with a smaller tank, with a bunch of clowns different colors and a few anemones.
I am on my 3rd tank, so 2 upgrades. I think my tank is beautiful. Still building. But it is not easy.
I am more than 6K plus prob more like 10K and I am just in denial...
150Gal 6' long tank
Live Rock, Live Sand, RS200 Sump, Reef Octopus Skimmer, Majestic Angel Adult, Blue Face angel Adult, Purple Tang, Powder blue tang, Baby Hippo tang, Lawnmower blenny, Yellow Gobie, 2 Wyoming White Clowns, 2 Nearly Naked Clowns, 1 tiny anemone that no one pays attention to (clowns i mean), 3 clams, 2 Hammers, 1 Frogspawn, 1 torch coral, 2 Green Goniopora, 1 Red goniopora, 1 Elegance coral, 1 Sun Coral (have to manually feed them), 1 plate coral.

*Welcome to the forum!*My first salt water tank was a bio cube and it worked out very well for me.If you buy one keep in mind that they can get hot.Also replacing the light bulbs can be tricky.I had to order mine though the local pet store because they were a odd size.Be sure to siphon the compartments once in while after the tank is established.I found that muck will build up in them over time.
