Hello - New to R2R from SoCal

I got started in reef keeping in March of 2013 after purchasing a used RSM130. Stocked with coral and fish. After one year majority of the coral had died off. Fish were doing fine. By the end of 2014 just a few hardy coral remained. I was not keeping up with water changes. Added too much fish. I believe my lighting was also a factor. I had not changed out the tube lights. Purchased Steve's LEDs and got more dedicated to reef keeping. Slowly started adding coral in March of 2015. Later added a 10 gallon sump. Tank was doing well. Keeping up with maintenance. Fast forward. March 2017, purchased a used RSM250 w/Steve's LEDs, rock and sand. Cycled the tank by using water changes from the RSM130 to the new tank along with new salt water from LFS. Water tests were done. By end of May, completed transferring all my rock, coral and live stock. Added a 20 gallon sump/refugium. Slowly adding new frags. Display tank is doing well.
One question: does the chaeto need to tumble in the refugium?

Welcome to R2R. I will be the first to ask to share some pictures. As to the chaeto question, I can only speak from own experience. Mine doesn't tumble and I remove large zip lock bags every 2-3 weeks. But some will say it should in fact tumble, I've just not found it necessary.
