Hi all, I'm about 4 month into my first tank, Ive quickly learned many valuable lessions, and mind you expensive lol. Luckly got many family memebers who are seasoned reefers to help with hammy downs and advice; so I'll go a lil bit into what my set up is and start a tank thread later on tonight.
90 gal started off as a fowlr as many do when they start off, well let me tell you... major mistake on my part with the more aggressive fish, got bored of them quickly, learned that the bigger fish eating the meaty food was just more work on keeping water quality, so i recently sold all my aggressive fish (lionfish trigger 2 puffers) and now I have a very lil bio load. making the switch to a reef tank can be very overwhelming, ran into many issues that ended up costing me tons and tons of money. Had to upgrade my lights switch from a wet/dry to a fuge, get a UV unit, purchase an RO/DI. I had a crazy GHA problem before I got all these new upgrades I just mentioned, really hoping this solves the problem.
Anyway that's a lil bit about my progress from the last 4 months having not known anything about saltwater to learning that its not about keeping fish or coral. its about keeping water.
