Hello R2R - my name is Jack Servedio and I am from North Carolina. I am a programmer by trade and have been keeping fish tanks my entire life. I am currently on my first reef tank (and first SW) and have been into it for the better part of a year now. I have a 20g tall that is a mixed SPS/LPS reef and I have been concentrating on packing out the tank with insane colors. I had planned on moving up to a 24" cube, but that got put on hold with the possibility of moving around the country several times in the next 3 years. Since I am only going to have 20g for the next few years, I plan on making the best of every single square inch and filling it with insanely colored ultra corals. I have been an active member of Carolina Reefers and Carolina Fish Talk for a while - but this is the first time I have been on national forums.
I am moving to a new apartment in the next week and plan on making the jump to LED when I get there and purchasing a Radion unit. If anyone has one for sale I would love to buy yours, but if not would love insight into whether the G1, G2, or PRO would be the best purchase and investment for the long run.
Here is my setup:
- 20g Tall with a 10g standard sump
- 4x 24w T5HO with internal controller (1x 10k, 2x True Actinic, 1x Special Purple) - can't Wait for LEDS!
- MP10 Blue Box (Standing Wave), Dual 200gph returns, 240gph Koralia Nano
- Bubble Magus NAC 3.5+ Skimmer
- BRS Deluxe GFO Reactor with MJ1200 feed
- DIY upflow carbon reactor fed from GFO Reactor
- Avast Marine ATO with Float valve backup
- Pinpoint pH & Salinity Monitors
- BRS Filter Sock setup
- Chaeto w/ 23w CFL Spotlight
- Also getting Bubble Magus 3x doser with my LEDs for Alk, Calc, and Mg - but for now I manually dose
Livestock:
- Lots of Acropora, Monti Cap, Monti Digi
- Lots of LPS - my favorites are my acan collection and a beautiul pink/blue lobo - also got a few nice chalice which I am hoping to expand on
- Zoa Garden
- Small Ricordea Garden
- 2 Percula Clowns
- Peppermint Shrim
- 6 arm Linckia starfish
- Various Crabs and Snails
I am big into DIY, plan on doing my own Raspberry Pi/Arduino controller eventually (hardware has been sitting in my office for months). Hopefully I will have some time to post a build thread and give you lots of pictures and eye candy. I also do a lot of Photography - especially Macro and Strobist work - so you will get lots of up close and night-time multi-light shots
