Hi Everybody!
My name is Steven! I have been lurking this forum for a good amount of months as I gather information on my first reef setup!
My tank has completed it's fishless cycle and I am starting to show some Coralline growth (finally) so I have been researching livestock recently. Still deciding on placements and choices. I thought setup would be the hardest part but it actually is the crazy amount of choices afterward and patience that kills me!
My tank is a Mr. Aqua 12 gal bookshelf aquarium with no sump; but I do run an Aquaclear 110 as a mini refugium (Currently full of seed rock but soon to be chaeto). It also houses my AquaticLife 115 skimmer and a heater. I have two Kessil A80 tuna blue lights on goosenecks and a controller running 3 Eflux 660 wave pumps. A mini canister filter-surface skimmer-ATO box thingy finishes out my tech.
(Glare Shot!)
The only livestock in the tank currently is the CUC; my favorite members being the two emerald crabs who try to grab my glass scraper during cleaning time.
I've recently been struggling a little with pH. I can not seem to raise it above 7.8 in the evening and It dips as low as 7.6 in the morning. I have been leaving my window open more and recently added a fresh air skimmer line which brought it up to those numbers from around 7.4-7.6 pH. My alkalinity hovers around 8-8.5 dkH which I think is not to bad (easy to control when there are no stonies!) I think the Chaeto will help with this when I finally add it.
That's a little about my reefing so far! I look forward to being a a bigger part of this community! Hopefully I am able to contribute what I have learned as well as learn even more from all you beautiful experts!
Thank you all!
