What's up guys !
My name is mike, I've been into the reef hobby for 13 years now. Had fish tanks for over 30. And I've passed it on. All three of my kids have tanks as well. One has three ! LOL Anyway, I used to be heavy into reefing and the message boards years back but life gets in the way.
After a few years of neglecting my tank, I started revamping my system about a year ago. Once i got it back in good condition Nemo hit and being without power for a week or so, I lost everything. Since then, I've gotten a few fish and just let the tank go. I added some caulerpa and basically turned the tank into a refugium. Now i am ready to start the cleanup and get my reef going once again. Being on the forums gives you a bit of a kick in the butt to get things looking nice. I hope my experience can be of help to members as much as they can be of help to me.
And speaking from experience, don't let this hobby take over your life. Instead of buying that new frag every week take the old lady out for a drink or two and talk to her. Sitting in front of the computer and your tank all the time gets very boring for the significant other !
