There are two decent stores in Nashville. The Aquatic Critter is more on the east side of town, and Emerald bay is on the west. If you have time, the Aqaurium Restaurant is nice to wander through. I haven't been there in several years (moved from Nashville a few years ago), but the numerous tanks and 20K central tank give a nice scenic break. It is located in the Opry Mill's Mall. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel is pretty nice to walk through, too. It has a series of streams that run through it with trees and plants of all kinds. Opry Mill's and the Aquarium Restaurant are right next to each other. For a good beer, Big River downtown always had my favorite in Nasville. Big River is located at 2nd Avenue and Broadway, almost at the river. Decent food and good beer. Broadway has all of the honky tonks, too, so that might be a good touristy type place to check out. When the bosses from the west coast would come out, they always wanted to go to the Orchid Lounge or Tootsies for the live shows, etc.
