I am new to this group. I had a very beautiful 510 with fully stocked 350 gallon basement fish room. Then on February 18th I mad the Huge mistake of going on vacation. Now the tank is in my office at looked at daily. No idea how the disaster happened but the tank went from 1.026 to 1.008 over a weekend. No one to blame but myself as the camera for the tank just came in and was sitting on my desk.
So to say it was an emotional week would be an understatement. No one got fired but I did spend a lot of time in my office with the door shut. Out of this we lost all the corals and inverts, but shocking just two fish a clown and hippo tang. My 17 year old clown fish came through with out issues.
So now the rebuild. 55 gallon water changes every day and the water is back to 1.026 and readings are stable but checked daily. Restocking is going to be costly and watching it grow again will take time but not much to do now but move forward. Safe guards are now in place
