Hello everyone My name is Nik. New to the boards here, relearning an old hobby. Used to keep salt back in the day, Under gravel fliters, T12 Grow lights, air stone skimmers, back when keeping a fish alive was an accomplsihment.

took a haitus from salt to get my life established, and now I am back. My daughter has a small pink betta tank in her bedroom, I have a 7 year old painted turtle in a 20 long, and a newly minted 55 gal FOWLR.

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef! I also remember the days of underground filters and air stones. IMO the use of lots of live rock was one of the best improvements to this hobby.

Thank you everyone. I got some pics from my build up on the builds thread. I do fiber optic to the home networks for phone companies, so I am always traveling. Adds some complexaties to the process, timing and schedules mostly, and I have to teach my wife and kids how to manage the tank while I am gone. Upside, get some real good deals on equipment on the road. Just bagged a RO 159 skimmer for $80

Tank update, had some issues, lost 3 fish. Paid a neighbor kid to feed the fish, he over fed, and we had a water issue that dropped salinity to 1.019.. major cyno issues now, but I have scored a few corals.
