Hello! So I just became the owner of a saltwater setup..

My boyfriend's brother moved to Korea, and we transported the live sand, rock, and clownfish this weekend. The light fixture fore the tank his brother gave us has a broken stand thingy. Then, the bulb for the metal halide light went out.

Anyway, I bought a used 60 gal rimless tank with a 20 gallon sump. I have never used a sump before, and this is my first saltwater setup. I want to set the tank up today because I'm worried about the coral not having any light..

Good morning and welcome to R2R arabianmagicat.

Do you plan on using the same metal halide lighting system on what I gather a newly purchased tank? If the bulb went out I would be curious as to if it was the bulb or ballast. If you refer to the light having a broken thing. Is it a leg which slides onto the fixture itself? They can be replaced.

Do you have a pic of the lighting system itself? It could help us help you. Or are you going another route on lighting?

I'm just a bit confused with a new tank purchase and don't know your plans. I'm sorry. Pics would greatly help.
