New to the forums and I thought I'd introduce myself. We started our tank almost six months ago with the help of CRA. (really miss those guys and hope they are doing well). It's a 75g with a 20g sump/refugium. We started it off with live sand, some live and dry rock and added in a few more dry rock a couple of months ago. We have a six line wrasse and two clowns a few crabs and some sea grass. The fish seem to be doing well, but most of the crabs and snails don't seem to last long.

Anyway, I'll be around doing some searching and asking some questions...

Welcome to R2R! Great to have you!

Welcome to the community!

Welcome to R2R I miss CRA also. I had just found their business when the storm destroyed it all. Im just proud they didnt get hurt.
everyone here is knowledgable and will get you the answers you need.

Thanks all! Just got home from a trip to Vegas, so it's been a little busy.

Saltgator, the wrasse is about 1.5".

So, not familiar with all the lingo. Cuc?

Also, I was told that the wrasse could be the culprit of the death of some of the crabs and snails. Maybe even a shrimp and a clown? Does this sound reasonable?

Clean up crew. Sorry. I would blame the wrasse for the crabs and snails.

Ahh... Well that makes sense. LOL I just added a green emerald to help with some green algae. I'll have to keep a close eye on that. I hate to trade him in but it sounds like he's costing me money...

Welcome to R2R!!!!! You will find this to be the best forum on the net that I've found!!! (And believe me I've done some searching) There is a forum on here call North Alabama Reef Club (NARC). Just type it into the search box and see who your neighbors are.

My .02 cents says keep the wrasse. If your getting into sps or clams, this wrasse will keep pests away most of the time. I gave up on hermits and emeralds a time ago. They only uprooted every frag I put into the display. My mystery never touched any of the snails, but he was hunting everything else. BTW, depending on the hermits and snails, the hermits could have been taking the snails out for a new shell.

Thanks for the advice! I do want to start adding some corals once I'm comfortable the tank is ready. So what is your choice of cuc?
