Hi,
My Name is Albie.. I live in northeast NJ. Don't live off a turnpike or parkway exit.
I am very new to the hobby. I don't have a saltwater tank yet but working on it. But I do have a fresh water tank for the kids. I almost got a 50 gal saltwater set up. Just found out I wasn't getting it. So little bummed.

Last week I went to look at a job ( I run a construction company) and the GC I work for said that they( family member) are throwing out the tank. So i took a few pictures and showed them to the fish store by my house. And I told the GC, I would pay them for the tank/ fish. And told him I have to pay to move it so i have a budget for it. So every day for the past week I have been there feeding the fish, and working at the house. Just found out that the tank is a no-go..

So, at this point I guess i will go back to my plan and get a bio cube. I will be better starting out on a easyer tank system.. So I hope this week I can get the Cube i want.

Welcome to the forum! That's a bummer that you fed the fish and Got attached and they said no. :(

The tank has a 8inch eel, 5 inch yellow tail Tang, And a 5 inch Maroon Clown. I was giving the Tang to the guy who was moving the tank for me as a barder. And the Clown i was going to try to sale or keep it. But having the clown it would limit what I could do with the tank. I was trying to pick it up the set up for cheap since I was told they were throwing it out.

Thanks Grateful, I have been checking craiglslist. But I think i want to get a nano/bio cube to start my hobby with. I always wanted a saltwater tank and just want to take it slow at first. The more I talk to ppl in the saltwater field. The more I would love to do. But its not cheap hobby.

Your not that far from me. I live 45 mins from the point of NJ,PA, and NY.. Or 45 mins south Middletown NY. I think 1 hr 15 mins from Newburg ny. Its a few Hrs..

Greetings Albie and Welcome to R2R!

Hi Albie, Welcome to R2R!!!! We're all really glad to have you here.

Well, it needs a new top rim and silicone all around. Its a standard 55, the bottom rim is oak trim. Its a future project tank for me, but would prob just get turn into a sump really. If you want it, and are willing to drive I would give it to you to help you get started. Its just taking up space in my moms garage anyway currently. Let me know, Im serious and this isnt an open invite to anyone, I feel bad for the OP gettin bummed out a couple times now.

Thanks for the warm welcome..

Looks like my adventure is starting..:bounce:

The other day we( family and I) went last minute school shopping. And there was a Big box store fish store. So I took my youngest in to keep us busy. The store doesnt sell saltwater fish but it fun anyway. So in the back of the store was a 29 gal Oceanic bio cube Brand spanken new. So I ask what the price was. I knew what it goes for I been priceing them out. The young lady goes up to check and comes back with a price.:angel:I asked twice if this is the price and yes it is I was told. I check all my pocket and I was short.

That night i showed my wife the price of the tank online and what the store said. And she said Why didn't I by it.. I think she was HIGH.

So Today I got some money and ran too the store and first checked the price again. Its the same price.

So I bought it... So happy... I do feel bad, Feels like i stole it... I got a 29 gal Oceanic Bio tank for a great price.
Then stopped by my buddys pet store and bought live rock, sand, and saltwater. Picking it up in a few days.
