Hi Folks,
(1) Can someone tell me what these things are? They started appearing on my glass about a week ago. They are extremely small, whitish disks (some have irregular edges) that appeared on my glass about a week ago. They seem to be growing and developing inside as I now see red lines specks within the disk. It's hard to get a decent picture of them but the largest one, pictured below, is about an 1/8" (or less than 1/2 cm) at widest. In the 2nd photo below the red "insides" appear more like dots; to the naked eye, though, it appears more like a continuous red line - a vein-like line. There's about 12+ of them on my glass. They do not appear to move and they seem hard or solid: tried scaping a very small one off and bits started to break apart so stopped. If they are HARMFUL or PESTS, how do I get rid of them? THANKS for any help!

And (2), could someone please confirm that what appears in the pic below is dreaded Aptasia. There are two of them that I can see. I think both are on my Grube's Gorg - although one may have moved to anchor on corner of the rock (the very bottom rock in my high stack!). They must have come in with the gorg several months ago (I had dipped the gorg a rather long time). If, indeed, it is Aptasia, how do I best remove it? The Gorg needs to stay in water - can't expose it to air. Thought about turning the gorg upside down and trying to pry it off but not sure I can do that without exposing Gorg to air. Any help is greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!!! -Evi.

Coralline is desired and if you scrape it off it is known to help spread it around.

Aiptasia can be killed using Kalk paste or aiptasia x. I used 50 peppermint shrimp in my 180 and it was all gone in a week and a half. I had a lot. But there are many ways to kill aiptasia. If not controlled quickly they can spread like wild fire.

If you can remove the rock, better. You can torch it off.

Research removing aiptasia.

Thanks. I had read somewhere about someone smothering aiptasia with superglue. I'll research.
THOSE thin white dots, streaking w/red as they grow, are Coralline!? Really!
