Hate to say it but it looks like Dino’s ;Blackeye which is strange because you said there are measurable levels of nutrients... hmm I’d increase them honestly but let’s see if someone else can ID them

Thanks for reply. I have an emperor UV but is not hooked up. I will get it back online tomorrow

Light colors are throwing off image but im suspecting diatoms.
Take a turkey baster and see if it blows away loosly ot stringy. That reddish/pink light which is used for chaeto does promote algae. High nitrates and phosphates would also cause this. You may want to check those levels

Anything else you you advice me doing? Does Dino x work good?

The color is due to my phone. The light is actually blue it was in the ramp down

Thanks vette. I did a water change Monday night and vacuumed the whole sand bed. The photos were taken today about 3 hours ago.

Do that light reduction and add 1 ml of peroxide per 10 gallons at night . Do this for 3 nights and see how tank looks

I wanted to report back. I dosed the 3% peroxide ( 1 Ml to 10 gallons) and did a 3 day lights out and also hooked my UV back up. I turned the light back on Saturday night and wow the tank sure is clean. Yesterday it looked good also. My fingers are crossed but I believe I am headed down the right path. Thanks for the help!!
