Unbelievable! I am having another isssue. This is an used tank I purchase two weeks ago. New sand. It came with rocks, fish and corals. My sand, rocks, and some corals are cover with these red stuff. Looks like red slime algae to me? I just put some Chemiclean in the tank. Let me know what you think. I know Dkh is very low, I am dosing Kent Marine pro buffer DKH. Dkh is around 6.5 this morning. I am slowly bringing up the dkh.

Nitrates looked like they have bottom out, and phosphates too.

Follow CC's instructions to a tee.

Need to get your phosphates are nitrates back inline, or the cyano will come back. Dinos can also, take over and thrive if zeroed out phos and nitrates, are the case.

Shoot for about 4-10 ppm on nitrates or higher

And .03 - .1ppm on phosphates.

Looks like some diatoms might be on in the corners of your glass too.

Nitrate is at 5 ppm.

I just test photosphere again and is at .03ppm.
Yes, I used rodi water on everything, even cleaning out the test kits. Any other suggestions? Or just wait and see?

The only changed I made in last couple days is dosing Red Sea energy AB, could this have cost the problem?

Nope, but Reef Energy could help bring your phosphates and nitrates back up.

Your Apex chart shows 0 phosphates and Nitrates

Cyano. Increase water flow and shoot for stability in key water parameters. I am guessing you moved the tank a few weeks ago when your bought it. Very normal to have this happen after a major disturbance.

I try to put as little in my water as possible so if it were me, I would not try a quick fix chemical just go for some good old regular water changes and give it time. You are using RODI for topoff?

Nitrite 0, nitrates 5 ppm, and I just tested pho with hanna and is up at .03 now.

Duh on me... ;Eggonface

Just run the CC per their instructions and see how it plays out.

Sorry about mixing up your nitrates with nitrites.

Good call and it's a new sand bed too.

New sand, and the move, definitly a factor here. Bring up flow, limit your lighting a bit, siphon out what you can. It should go away on it's own as the sand matures. I wouldnt use any chemical additives..

Here is my flow now. I just changed the flow this morning. Copied it off from other in Apex. My light setting is the recommended setting by Red Sea. I am thinking to change it to AB+? Is it ok to change it now or should I wait? How many hours should I change it to?

Yes, RODI for top-off too, about 2 gallons per day.

I would definilty increase the flow, doesnt seem like much at 20-30% max, and definitly not the AB+ light schedule. That's more for an acro dominant tank, with alot of white and will just feed the cyano with light.
