Hey all. Struggling with something and looking for answers.
Have a SMALL nano (7g). I have had it up and running for about 5 months now. Most of the parameters are stable with the exception of the Nutrients. I am working hard on getting them more stable.
So most of the corals in the tank doing quite well with exception to the small Zoas. Everything Euphelia, Pallys, Scoly, Mushrooms, and Acans doing great. Only the small Zoas ALL closed up. I have about 5 frag plugs of them.
I have dipped all the Zoas in FW for 5-10 min with CoralRX twice in 2 weeks now. Not sure if I should just continue dipping. They are closed after the dip and remain closed. When I first got them all they were all pretty open but have been closed now for 3 weeks or so. PAR at the Zoas is around 75-100 PAR. Flow is medium I would say.
I run Carbon, Oversized bag actually and GFO. I do not have anything else with exception of a DYI Algae turf scrubber.
Parameters.
Salinity 34.5PPT
Mag - 1320
Ca - 430
Alk - 9.0
NO3 - 3
PO4 - .04
Thank you for any ideas/assistance.

Salinity a little low. Bring to 35-35.5PPT
Additionally, water temp- 78-79 deg. moderate water flow and lighting (heavy on blues). Blow off gently with turkey baster in case of any dust on them and add iodine such as Lugols to the water

Lastly check for any bugs such as black bugs and/or asterina stars on the zoas

Ok, I am currently using AB+ spectrum on my XR15's. As mentioned Par is more around 120 than previously stated.

I can bring up the temp but I have always found 76 to be a sweet spot for my corals. I have another larger reef at 76 and all the Zoas doing great. Then again it is a much larger system and more mature system. I am working on the Salinity actually. Have my ATO in SW right now. Slowly increasing day by day.

im having a similar issue. they were doing great for over a month, no changes in system and bam, slowly closing up and not opening at all over the last week

High salinity can cause them to be unhappy. Have you calibrated salinity tester?
