Help! Ammonia attack!

Honestly it might go faster because the bacteria that feed on the ammonia will grow so fast due to the high levels that they will go slower and then speed the cycle after that way up so I'm gonna guess maybe a month or 3 weeks
I hope so. that would be great. Guess I'll be the guinea pig for a new experiment lol

You already have nitrite readings, meaning ammonia is already being converted. Just don't add anymore and don't do water changes.
Once it comes down dose like you were to finish cycle. After nitrites peak and come back down trates should be off the charts.
Then do water change.

Shouldn't take any longer than it would normally

I guess I'm just gonna plan to ride it out like a normal cycle.

Trites are rising, hopefully the ammonia is continuing to fall. Day 7

I have same test kit lol. Yeah but your ammonia is of the charts still. Goodluck
I think I am going to get another brute and do a 60 gallon water change. I figure it will at least get rid of alot of the ammonia and I will still have bacteria Converting the ammonia

Just let it do its thing. Best advice and hardest to do is be patient. It will drop

Is this your first salt tank? I was in the same boat a few months back when I got started. Honestly let it g, don't do the water change til it all converts. You want hurt your rock since it wasn't lr to start. I actually used raw cooking shrimp to spike my no3/no4 cycle, I cycled very quick that way and it still took like 3 weeks. You have nothing to fear with the high ammonia without living creatures in the tank. If you wanted could possibly start your pods, I know they can survive cycling not sure to what extent though. I put mine in week one and have the little buggers every where, never used more than a bag of pods. Good luck and be patient it'll be so worth it.

Yeah its my first marine tank. I just don't know how long it would take to get the ammonia that is that high down to 0

It's dropping as we speak, it's just extremely high. Give it a few more days. Maintain it at about .25-.50 until nitrites drops

I'm at a loss for words. This is 2 days with no water changes or anything. The ammonia has dropped that much! Trites and trates are also rising. Maybe that much ammonia was a good thing

Yep like I said I put raw shrimp in to decompose to spike my ammonia and I was able to cycle a 75g in about three weeks, when the common thought on cycling seemed to be 4-6 weeks for a tank that size. I'm excited to follow along and see how your experience goes. I've learned a lot in the past few month (tank been up since June) and will be glad to share.

Thanks! I'm excited too. My jaw all but dropped when I saw how much lower my ammonia was
