Hi there, so this morning I noticed some little critters that I deemed to be sea spiders on my purple LTA this morning. Didn’t think too much about it and pulled off the ones I could, however this evening the anemone looks much worse and has oriented itself over where many more sea spiders are visible. I’m worried that the anemone is dying and that these “sea spiders” have essentially appeared out of nowhere. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Pull off all of them you can find, and try to get a wrasse like a melanurus for control. At least that's what I would do.

Okay so update- I pulled a large portion of the spiders off (definitely stressed out the anemone even more) however there are still a few on there and I’m hesitant to move the anemone Any more than I already have. Here is a picture of its oral disc but do you think this guy still has a chance?

He looks stressed but should be fine. Anemones are fairly hardy once established in a tank. How long have you had him?

About a month - literally have had no problems with him until I saw the spiders on him this morning.

100% it has a chance! Take a blow , go back at it tomorrow, they aren't killing your specimen overnight. Nice colouration on your LTA BTW, which mine had that deep purple lol...keep us updated, and be surgical....

Yup! It should be fine. Just keep removing them, and again, if you can find a healthy Halichoeres wrasse, they do a great job at eating these guys.
