Have a precision marine Kalk reactor and I noticed that it keeps back siphoning into the ato reservoir. There's an air line check valve in between the reactor and ato pump. Prior to the precision marine reactor I was using a tunze Kalk reactor and can't remember having this issue. The precision marine is a lot taller reactor compared to the tunze. And is also taller than the ato reservoir. I even put in a new check valve thinking the old one wasnt good anymore. Still back siphoning.

Any suggestions on a reliable check valve. Do they go bad frequently? Or do I need to place thevery check in a specific spot?

It only takes a small piece of trash in the check valve to cause it to fail. When you replaced the check valve did you flush the lines to make sure they were clean?

Didn't flush lines. But it's only ro water and Kalk solution. I even put in anew air line check valve.

Is there high grade more reliable check valve available? I just use the $2 ones at the pet store

I don't know about high grade. I have always used the cheap ones too.
