just installed a fmk to my return pump. Apex is showing 200gph but this thing has to be wrong. Its a varios 6 on my 150g and at the output it seems way more than 200gph...

Any suggestions?

I dont think it was wrong. Just performing that bad. I removed the ends from my lock tight and it went to 550gph. Still suprised there's that much head loss at 100%

That surprises me as well- how do you have it plumbed? Are you reducing from the optimal 1.25" plumbing?

Things to check:

  1. Is the flow sensor installed in the correct direction? There's an arrow on the side indicating direction of flow.

  2. Is the FMM configured for the correct flow sensor size?
Plumbing has a huge impact on flow rates. I have a COR-20 return pump with 1" PVC and a 1" flow sensor, but there are several 90 degree elbows, and then the Red Sea 5/8" nozzle which is a huge bottleneck. I only get about 450 gph.

Most of the DC pumps are designed for flow not for pressure. You will lose a ton of flow to friction and head pressures.
